About Megan
Every therapist is different. Plain and simple. If you’ve been to one therapist, you’ve been to one therapist.
I am…
- Open-minded
- Supportive
- Direct
- Balanced
Mindfulness and meditation are a big part of my practice at The Mindfulness Center. I have found this approach calming and centering for clients who feel “scattered” or “overthink” things. This is a simple and straightforward approach that does wonders for individuals dealing with anger, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. It gives you tools for your toolbox so you are prepared to handle challenging situations as they arise. I am happy to announce I’m not the only provider who thinks this way. I have three wonderful like-minded providers on my team here at The Mindfulness Center. You are in excellent hands with any of us!
Over the last two decades, I have worked with highly successful entrepreneurs, C-suite executives, professional musicians, professional athletes, lawyers, and doctors who have accomplished a lot of success professionally and are wanting to find more balance and success in their marriage, family, and personal life. Or perhaps they reached the top of their game professionally and it wasn’t as fulfilling as they thought it would be. Through my work with them, I have developed the Mindfulness Mindset™. This is a toolbox of easy-to-use, mindfulness-based tools to handle all of life’s stressors. I teach the Mindfulness Mindset™ one-on-one and in groups. People often tell me I’m not so much a therapist as much as a great educator, guide and motivator. The best compliment was from a client who called me “Yoda.” My answer was, “Teach you, I will.” Can it get any better than that?!

Answers to common questions I get asked:
Are you taking new clients? Yes! I am licensed as a marriage and family therapist in Kentucky (LMFT #105017) , Texas (LMFT-S #200889), and Indiana (35002137A). I am also registered with Florida to provide telehealth services. Click HERE to schedule!
Are you still working with couples? I do work with couples although all of those spots are currently full. If you are needing couples therapy, I have every confidence that you will do wonderful work with Keith Williams, Elizabeth McCormack, Bridgette Allen, or Rob Giltner.
What’s your schedule like? I work daytime hours during the week. If you need evening or weekend hours, I highly recommend you work with one of my colleagues at Louisville Mindfulness Center. They are all either being trained and/or mentored by me or we have been trained together in our master’s program. We all come from very similar mindsets. When close friends and family ask for referrals I don’t hesitate to refer them to the therapists at Louisville Mindfulness Center and have received WONDERFUL feedback!
Do you take insurance? I am not in-network with any insurance companies. I am considered an out-of-network provider. View our FAQs page for more about Rates, Insurance, and Free Consultations HERE.
About Me
I was born in California, but grew up in Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington. After living in Tucson, Arizona for a bit, I decided to get my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. I have loved living all across the United States and have been lucky enough to travel the world. I love meeting new people and exploring new cultures. When I’m not working on my practice, my media contributions, attending a public speaking event or a board meeting, you’ll find me being silly with my family, reading (a lot!), practicing yoga (a little), and being creative (always!).
I am honored to be named one of the “Three Best Marriage Counselors in Louisville, KY” by threebestrated.com. Besides seeing clients in my private practice I also contribute to the media, such as appearances on WHAS, Martha Stewart Weddings Online, and more!
I am a published author of two books – RESET: Six Powerful Exercises to Refocus on What Works and Release What Doesn’t, and a fun and silly book for parents to read to kiddos at bedtime called “Don’t Go To Sleep.” It is a method I created for my 4 year-old daughter that worked wonderfully. Essentially it is a guided meditation that helps parents calm down and relax just as much as kiddos! My hope is that it will work just as well for other families as much as it did for ours. So far the feedback has been very positive! Give it a try!
