Kathryn Petrey, MAMFT, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I utilize evidence-based, integrative & humanistic approaches grounded in Mindfulness to guide my work in couples therapy.
Being a registered yoga instructor informs my approach to the therapeutic process. I see things as holistic and rooted in the mind-body-spirit connection for wellness. I operate out of a Mindfulness-based, client centered foundation to serve as a positive support during times of transition and uncertainty within the human struggle. My aim is to assist clients in actively shifting away from feeling stuck.
As a couples therapist, I assist clients in improving communication, gaining clarity and deepening emotional connection within their relationship. I guide clients toward healing, rebuilding trust and discovering new positive interaction going forward. My overall focus is on guiding clients from distress to inner calm and relational harmony. My wish for couples is to move beyond current limitations, relational injury, emotional pain and feelings of stuckness, ultimately living into the full potential of their relationship.
I work to empower clients in sharpening their awareness and in gaining a deeper understanding to generate mutual healing and growth. I work to instill hope for desired change and promote working together to loosen the grip of relational tension in exchange for discovering the freedom of acceptance, reconnection, and renewal.
It is my understanding that awareness, acceptance and compassion usher in grace and healing. I strive to offer the resources, tools and hope that light the way forward for my couples.
