The Mindfulness Center Florida is now offering telehealth virtually throughout the entire state.
You’re in the right place. We are happy to help!
Our goal is to help you decrease anxiety, irritability, anger, depression, and fear as well as constant “spinning” thoughts. The coping skills we teach are specifically designed to calm your body and rewire your brain so you feel more peace and joy. These practical, easy-to-use tools for your toolbox will help you with all of life’s stressors. Now, doesn’t that sound wonderful!
Our providers work from a mindfulness-based perspective. We do our best to operate from an open-minded, non-judgmental frame of mind. Thanks to mindfulness, we are also very observant and aware of things during sessions that often get overlooked. For instance, our non-verbal communication is 70-90% of what we communicate. This means that our tone of voice, the volume of voice, facial expressions, body posture, and hand movements communicate much more than our actual words. When we are paying attention to our own non-verbal communication, we are better able to observe how we are feeling and slow ourselves down just enough to choose how we want to respond in any given interaction versus reacting without awareness we feel much more in control and empowered.
Our providers have a Masters degree (often a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy) and are Marriage and Family Therapists. The discipline of marriage and family therapy operates from a systemic perspective which sees the interrelatedness of all aspects of a person’s life (the systems in which you belong) – culture, family of origin, education, career, etc. When life is looked at from this holistic perspective, it is hard to pathologize a person, but rather begin to see patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that are no longer working and seek new beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that will likely remedy the situation.
Life transitions are everywhere. Whether you’re dealing with the ending of a relationship, getting back into the workforce, moving, a child leaving for college, retirement, or the changing of your relationship after having kids, life has continual stressors. How we perceive and view these stressors matters more than whether or not they happen.
Working together, here’s what we can accomplish:
Communicate and CONNECT effectively
Understand and manage your feelings and emotions as they happen
Set appropriate boundaries with ease
Stop overthinking things
Stop wasting energy on things you can’t control
Experience more JOY, LOVE, and PEACE on a daily basis
ABOUT THE MINDFULNESS CENTER FLORIDA
Sometimes, our reactions to certain situations may not be the best. Sometimes, our reactions may even go as far as to hurt someone else. There are times when all of us get stuck and are at a loss of how to shift our perspective. During times such as these, mindfulness can be very helpful! Mindfulness can help you not only broaden your perspective but also see things from different views.
At the Mindfulness Center Florida, we find that sometimes people are often resistant to practicing mindfulness, or believe that there is no way they could be successful at it. They may either think it has to be done a certain way, OR that they have to spend a lot of time with it in order for it to work. Neither of these things have to be true! In fact, sometimes it’s not what we DO at all, but rather how we THINK about things in new ways that help – a new perspective if you will. At the Mindfulness Center Florida, our focus is to make mindfulness accessible to everyone! We want you to be successful in getting unstuck and increase your mindfulness, so we have very gentle approaches that often have big positive impacts.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Are you taking new clients?
Yes! Although my schedule is very full, I currently have some new client openings throughout the week! Check out my schedule HERE!
Are you seeing people in-office?
Currently, I am only seeing clients virtually. I use a video-based, HIPAA-compliant platform that is super-easy to use. I send you the link, you type in your name to let me know you’re in my virtual “waiting room” then we have our appointment. No logging in, no frustration! Plus, not drive time! And you could be anywhere in the state of Florida!
Do you take insurance?
I do accept HUMANA Commercial insurance (Not Medicaid or Medicare).
With other insurance companies, I am considered an Out-of-Network Provider. Check with your insurance company to see what they reimburse for Out-of-Network providers and the information they will need to process that claim. Using Out-of-Network benefits is usually fairly simple, although your insurance company may require you receive authorization from them first before beginning services.
What is your fee? What does therapy cost?
My rate is $150 for a 50-minute session. A credit card is used to reserve your appointment when you book your appointment online through our online scheduling system. Payment is processed after your session. You are welcome to use your HSA or FSA cards for appointments.
Research shows that clients benefit the most from 8-12 sessions. It’s helpful to plan for 6-10 sessions. Depending on what you’re working on, it could be less, or it could be more. Schedule NOW!
Do you offer a FREE consultation?
Yes! I offer a FREE 10-minute consultation. Please note, this is not a therapy session. It is a chance for us to see if working together is optimal for each of us. I have worked with just about every issue possible and have been practicing for almost two decades. CLICK HERE to schedule!
