Rob Giltner, MAMFT, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Is there something that needs to be healed in your life? Or perhaps you feel stuck without any direction. Do you desire growth? These possible changes can be frightening and wearying. Even healing from the effects of stress and anxiety can make us want to avoid the discomfort. In session, I work with my clients to create a safe and comfortable environment. I admire the bravery it takes to start this journey and treasure the experience. My role can be therapist, educator, or coach. Whatever role is best for you, let’s work together.
I work with individuals to heal:
- Addiction
- Anxiety/depression
- Trauma
- Anger Issues
- Life transitions
My work with individual adults and adolescents includes the importance of self-compassion and mindfulness. Both go hand in hand when beginning the exploration of change and healing. I am a person-centered therapist that focuses on my client’s strengths as well as incorporating evidence-based practices. My clients and I are creative in designing a plan for change. This plan could include music, art, writing, games, and with adolescents even video games. This collaborative approach allows the perspective that the client is the expert on their life. Clients can expect me to be motivated and organized to accomplish the goals they have.
I work with couples to heal:
- Communication
- Trust
- Infidelity Recovery
- Closeness and Intimacy
- Conflict
I focus on attachment and emotional connection within relationships, along with mindfulness-based approaches. Communication is the key the starts the engine of healing, connection, and rebuilding trust. Couples will receive a unique plan for their treatment and will receive concrete materials that they can leave each session with. In session, my clients work together with their partner in a safe, engaging, and fun environment. My clients develop a deeper connection with their partner and healthy communication that builds resistance to future issues that may arise.
