grief & loss
All of our providers at The Mindfulness Center welcome the opportunity to work with clients who are experiencing grief, sadness, and/or have experienced a loss. Sometimes that loss can be the death of a person or pet, but it can also be the loss of a pregnancy, the loss of a job, moving to a new town, or the loss of a relationship.
With grief can come anger, sadness, depression, anxiety, and a withdrawal from life as you may have previously lived it. It can also come with feelings you “just can’t shake” or wonder if they will ever go away.
Everyone handles grief and loss differently so there is no one way to deal with it. And everyone’s grieving process is just that… a process… so there is no certain length of time for which one “should or shouldn’t” grieve.
Our mindfulness-based approach to grief and loss is very gentle and nurturing and we look forward to working with you.
Elizabeth McCormack, LMFT & Britt Riddle, DMin, MAMFT work with individuals and people who are grieving or watching a loved one grieve. They are both able and willing to sit with people in their time of sadness while also being ready to help them move along as the client determines it’s time to move along.
